The Account Transfer Promotion is designed for customers, who have websites hosted with other hosting providers and would like to move them to an Akooka Linux server. The terms below are applied to this promotion:
In order to participate in the promotion the customer should meet all of the conditions below:
- The Customer should transfer one or more existing websites to Akooka.
- The Customer should request the promotion benefits, by selecting the "Website Transfer addon" while placing an order for the account(s) at Akooka.
Promotion benefits
Free website transfer
Akooka will transfer each customer's website to Akooka servers for free. The transfer will be performed on the conditions described below in these terms in the Website Transfer Terms section.
Domain name registration and transfer
The charges connected with the Domain name(s) the customer uses with the transferred account(s) are applied in accordance with our General terms of use. If such a domain is registered by Akooka its registration and renewal will be at the prescribed cost. If the domain name is registered elsewhere it can be transferred to Akooka, following the usual transfer procedure. Transferred domain names are subject to renewal fees.
Website Transfer Terms
Akooka can transfer the customer's website only if the customer provides:
- All needed login information for its previous hosting account, which includes but is not limited to: control panel login details, MySQL login details, database export tools location on previous host etc.
- All additional assistance that may be needed during the transfer, which includes but is not limited to: contacting its previous host in case of technical problem on its side, etc.
Akooka cannot guarantee successful website transfer if any of the following conditions is present:
- If the website uses MySQL version different from the Akooka MySQL version at the time of the transfer.
- If the website uses PHP version different from the Akooka PHP version at the time of the transfer.
- If the website needs server settings that are different from the Akooka server settings at the time of the transfer.
- If the server of the previous host experiences continuous time outs during the transfer process.
The transfer of any additional to the main website components is conditional of the following terms:
- Email accounts and messages can only be transferred if the previous hosting account of the customer was managed with a CPanel version compatible with the Akooka CPanel.
- FTP accounts can only be transferred if the previous hosting account of the customer was managed with a CPanel version compatible with the Akooka CPanel.
- Subdomains, addon domain and parked domains should be additionally recreated on the Akooka customer's account if the previous hosting account of the customer was NOT managed with a CPanel version compatible with the Akooka CPanel. This should be requested additionally by the customer through the support system, as it is not included in the website transfer.
Akooka website transfer additional terms
- The website transfer can take up to 7 business days to be performed after all the needed information is provided by the Customer.
- For CPanel accounts we may have to use the CPanel username from the old host at Akooka.
- If the previous hosting account of the customer was NOT managed with a CPanel version compatible with the Akooka CPanel, the applications used by the customer may need additional re-configuration for proper functioning. The free transfer promotion covers the re-configuration work on up to 1 application per transferred account. Additional fee for development work is applicable for re-configuring each of the transferred applications except the first one.
- Website content bigger than 1 GB cannot be transferred for free as part of the transfer promotion.
General Terms
The promotion does not have cash value and cannot be combined with other offers or promotions. For any issue, not covered in the promotion special terms, the General Akooka Terms will apply. This policy is enforced concurrently with other Akooka policies, including, but not limited to, the Terms of Service, Refund/Cancellation Policy, Privacy Policy.
Terms of Use Change
Akooka reserves the right to change the above terms of use at any time. Such changes will become effective and binding after their posting on Akooka's website. The customer agrees to regularly review Akooka Terms of Use and be aware of the changes made. By continuing to use the Akooka services after a revision posted, the customer agrees to abide by them.
